Founded in 1977 by Bob Luby, Luby Equipment Services began with a vision to set a new standard in the heavy equipment industry. Bob, starting his career in heavy equipment sales with extensive experience across a variety of machinery, including cranes and excavators, acquired the Machine Maintenance and Equipment Company. This marked the beginning of a legacy focused on excellence in maintaining and repairing heavy industrial equipment. Over the years, Luby Equipment has evolved into a comprehensive entity with three specialized divisions: Construction Equipment, Oilfield Services, and Power Generation, each designed to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

Luby Construction Division - CASE and Takeuchi

Construction Equipment Division

Our Construction Equipment Division traces its roots back to strategic acquisitions and branch expansions, starting with the acquisition of Bistate Machinery, the Fiat Allis dealer, in 1989. This growth trajectory continued with the purchase of Case Power & Equipment in St. Louis and Cape Girardeau, MO, followed by the establishment of branches across Quincy, Springfield, and Caseyville (now Fairmont City), Illinois, and in O’Fallon, Missouri. Today, we proudly operate six locations dedicated to serving the construction sector with a wide range of high-quality new and used equipment available for rental, purchase, or lease, supporting projects in utility, road maintenance, demolition, material handling, and trenching.

Oilfield Services Division

The inception of our Oilfield Services Division was marked by becoming a dealer for Ingersoll-Rand water well drills, down hole hammers and bits, and high-pressure compressors. Originally focusing on the water well industry, the division expanded its focus to the oil and gas industry amidst its explosive growth. Today, we operate two locations offering equipment, parts, and service including renting compressor packages with operators, and a variety of equipment rentals crucial for oil and gas drilling activities in Arkansas and West Virginia.

Power Generation Division

In 2005, we launched our Industrial Power & Air Division, further diversifying our offerings into the power generation market. Our growth in this area was propelled by the need for reliable power solutions, underscored by several ice storms. Today, Luby Equipment is a key player in power generation across Missouri and Illinois, providing 24/7 emergency response, scheduled maintenance contracts covering all generator brands, and serving critical infrastructure such as hospitals, commercial and industrial buildings, and airports.
